The Arc of Iberia is committed to securing for all people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to develop, function and live to their fullest potential.

Arc of Iberia is active on the local, state and national level. We are a family driven organization which involves volunteers, educators and professionals who are devoted to improving the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.

Arc of Iberia’s Individual and Family Supports / Supported Living Program (IFS/SL Program) supports people with disabilities, while they are living at home with family members or independently.  These services include, but are not limited to, personal hygiene, accessing community activities and transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, etc.  Also, the family members that have loved ones with disabilities living with them are able to get some much needed respite while they’re loved ones are in our care.

Arc of Iberia holds the philosophy that people with developmental disabilities have the right to live, work and play in the least restrictive environment possible.  Individuals deserve to have proper training and counseling made available so they make responsible choices and assume responsibility for their actions.  IFS/SL Program seeks to provide opportunities for new experiences as well as to support individuals making friends who share common interest and/or activities.

Arc of Iberia’s IFS/SL Program also provides an opportunity for people with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible within the community.  To ensure independent living clients are able to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, the program provides supports depending on the needs of each individual.  Those needs may require 24-hour support, daytime/nighttime support or periodic checks to ensure that the person is having their needs met.  Training is provided in areas such as access to medical transportation, public transportation, money management skills, meal preparation skills and attending social functions and events.

Arc of Iberia is committed to securing for all persons with developmental disabilities the support to pursue their dreams, wants and needs.
